Eva Air began in July of 1991 using Boeing 767-300s on international routes. Early European flights were to Vienna in the same year and flights to London began two years later in 1993. From the end of 1992 Eva Air operated a service between Los Angeles and Taipei. Freight services, using an MD-11 Freighter began in 1995 between Taiwan and Amsterdam with new global routes following.Eva Air bought the domestic airline Taiwan Airlines in 1996 and has stakes in Makung Airlines and Great China Airlines.MD-11s were introduced from 1994 with Boeing 747-400s being added to the fleet throughout the period.
