Qatar Airways has begun flying the first of its eight A330-200
aircraft on its London Heathrow/Doha route.The Airbus A330-200 offers
the ultimate in passenger comfort and safety, including a three-class
configuration of 12 First, 18 Business and 208 economy class seats.
Beyond this high capacity of 238 passengers, the service includes such
features as cutting edge entertainment systems, seat-back television
screens for all classes, and state-of-the-art comfort with newly
designed seats.Qatar Airways has introduced the very latest seating
technology onto the A330-200s with the EADS Sogerma Services "CLASS
180" flatbed seats for the First Class cabin.
With a 79-inch seat pitch, the CLASS 180 flatbeds are fully
electronically driven and provide an exceptional degree of privacy.In
a clear breakthrough from previous generations of seats, the Business
Class cabins on the A330 will introduce the EADS Sogerma "Business
Plus" seats, featuring full electronic-operation and providing
movement from 90° to 160° by a simple press on a keypad.With a 55-inch
seat pitch and fixed shell concept, passengers will have comfort and
total privacy from their neighbors.Qatar Airways has also installed
the very latest DVD video entertainment system. The airline was, in
fact, the launch customer for IEC International's integrated In-Seat
DVD players with their 8.4" monitors on a deployment arm, passenger
control unit and power supply unit.
